Hicks is a very good player and had a terrific year in 1995 (to reach the world, UK and Masters semi-finals all at 22 takes some doing and he looked like he would go on to be a top player), but ultimately Dale won two rankers and what has Hicks won?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29605452.post-64669224289699680782012-02-12T15:12:47.717+00:002012-02-12T15:12:47.717+00:00I like the best of sevens as they have no interval...I like the best of sevens as they have no intervals.

Be interesting to see how Andy Hicks fares, I'd say the best player never to be ranked in the top 16.jamie brannonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01668254365608375328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29605452.post-50899250006893087522012-02-12T15:08:24.537+00:002012-02-12T15:08:24.537+00:00Watching them on TV I don't mind what format i...Watching them on TV I don't mind what format is used, but I appreciate the interval when I go and watch it live. Best of 9s could easily be accomodated on 2 tables over a full week.

Yet in the recently praised German Masters (featuring best of 9s) w, the tv viewers only get to see a tiny fraction of the games including 2/8 last 16 games and 1/4 of the quarters.

Seems a bit hypocritical for the tv factor to be the reason why Wales format is shortened, yet Germany is the opposite end of the scale when it comes to tv matches we can see.Witz78noreply@blogger.com
