ALL AROUND THE WORLD

In the last week alone, this blog has been read by people in 41 different countries.

This is one illustration of snooker's global appeal. It isn't properly represented by the the composition of the professional circuit - of the 96 players, only 13 are from outside Great Britain and Ireland.

However, there is far more to snooker than the pro game and it is good to know there is so much interest around the world.

For the record, we have had visitors from the UK, Germany, Ukraine, Ireland, Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Finland, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Canada, USA, Israel, Norway, Belgium, Lithuania, France, Spain, China, Switzerland, Australia, Latvia, Netherlands, Sweden, Hong Kong, Bulgaria, Italy, Greece, Singapore, Belarus, Slovakia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Malaysia, Nigeria, Egypt, Mauritius, Brazil and Denmark.

I'd echo that David
On Global Snooker Centre we have visitors noted on the stats from more than 150 countries.

I don't actually know how many countries there are in the world and when you take into consideration that our sites are exclusively written in English then the fact that we are reaching out across the world is testimony to the vast interest and participation in the game worldwide.

Apparently there are as many as 195, so you're well on your way to world domination!

I wouldn't jump to conclusions about the global popularity of the game based on your web server logs. For example, I read (and enjoy) your blog from Montreal, Canada, but I'm an Irishman.

I read the blog last week and my country isn't listed(Iceland.)
So much for stats!

That's me tuning in from Israel, where i have recently relocated.

Have to say i miss going to the tournaments (always tried to get to one or two a year), and also the bbc commentary.

I suppose i'm lucky that we get lots and lots of snooker on eurosport, but i sure miss John and Steve for the big ones on the beeb.

Snooker is surprisingly big over here, and i have found a pub taht shows all the live stuff on tv, with a rowdy crowd of fans cheering the lads on.

Keep up the good work!

To the reader in Iceland - there was one additional country that for some reason wasn't showing up: mystery solved!

Yesterday we also had readers from Estonia, South Africa and Argentina.
