NEW(ISH) LOOK!

So the blog has had a radical redesign, by which I mean it's now red and includes a weekly poll.

If I were one of those people paid thousands to spout marketing speak I would come up with a highly annoying reason for the change to red.

But I'm not so I'll just tell the truth: I quite like the colour.

I well remember the controversy when the set for 1987 World Championship changed colour but it didn't do any long term damage to the tournament.

Then again, a year later it reverted back to its original colour and was never spoken of again.

Regarding the poll i cant see anyone overtaking John this season unless John has a Ken Doherty style loss of form that took him from no 2 to out of the top 32 in 3 years.

  3. I thought the old orange and white theme was very appropriate for a sport that was propped up by tobacco sellers for so many years. hahah...

Anyway the new one looks good, and I like the addition of the poll.

It's not just the colour. THe print is smaller, too.
And there's a lot of wasted grey space on either side!

    Hi Dave
I actually find it harder to read and the red is bad for those of us that are colourblind.
I will keep reading though as the quality of the posting remains the finest

I hope you're not going all image over content on us Dave in a desperate bid to break into the top 20 of that survey? All seems a bit too timely to me....

Yes, the blue carpet and big globes, didn't Terry Griffiths pick one of the globes up at one point? Or was I dreaming that?

  9. That was the year after when he got to the final.

He knocked it off accidentally and was presented with it at the end.

Off subject, sorry Dave. Have the new 'STAR' tables been installed at Pontins yet? Also, will century breaks and other statistics count officially in the Pro Challenge series? I know he won't play but it would be a good way for Ronnie to eat into Hendry's century tally or indeed for Hendry to increse his.

I like the colour, but I think the font-size of the postings should be a little bit bigger - would be easier to read.

  12. The Star tables are at Pontin's now, Jack Lisowski said so in his blog at World Snooker and interestingly said that they are 'definitely different' but he'll let people find out for themselves.

  15. I usually read on my RSS reader, so the new layout doesn't make much difference to me - I keep coming back for the quality content.

Best snooker coverage online. Keep up the good work Dave!

Where did the 15 people out of the last 30 or so come from that think Ali Carter is going to be number 1? There was only 1 yesterday, and that person alone is severely misguided!
