DENNIS AND WILLIE HIT THE DANCEFLOOR

Former professionals and BBC snooker commentators Dennis Taylor and Willie Thorne are among the celebrities taking part in Let's Dance in aid of the Sport Relief charity.

Taylor and Thorne, two former contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, will be joined by ex-England footballers Peter Shilton and Rodney Marsh, actors Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph and comedians Katy Brand and Jenny Eclair.

The programme begins on February 20 on BBC1 and is presented by Steve Jones and Claudia Winkleman.

The series was won last year by comedian Robert Webb - who plays a snooker commentator in sketches for the BBC's Mitchell and Webb - who performed a routine to Flashdance.

That'll give them something to talk about for the next 10 years then. Oh good!

Sounds positively like a "my favourite type of animal is a llama" type of grandiose occasion.
My celebratory drink would be a tomato juice laced with Worcester Sauce and Benedictine should either of these two snookery luminaries lift another trophy for dancing on BBC.

10.50pm

One day a satellite will look down on the UK and see Willie Thorne making a 147 break while brandishing a dinner jacket and an expensive pair of shiny Dolcheo Putera shoes.

Hello Dave
How are you! It’s great of these mature boys Dennis and Big Willie to dance for charity. Especially as both these boys are also executives of the Paul Hunter Fund but still find time for other charities. There appearance on TV should be applauded and supported by all snooker buffs.

I often wonder Dave how the Paul Hunter Fund is progressing. Dennis, Willie and the other two executives refused an offer of financial help from the “Fine Art” method. I presume the Paul Hunter Fund is still thriving as there was no response from either of the Boys or the other two executives Steve and Big John from “Hazels Corner”.

Ball room dancing is basically an important part of “Fine Art “snooker. The timing and tempo should be experienced in both. The players that come nearest to dance tempo are the players that perform quite quickly and without the silly “Lookies” we see after each shot played. Mr hey you

I wonder what they're being paid for their presence? Or are they donating their fee to charity?

Memories, Memories. I recall Hazel Irvine once describing Willie Thorne and Dennis Taylor, When they did a commentary together just after Willie Thorne's appearance on Stictly come Dancing, as, "Two gentlemen with a likeness of touch on the Dance floor, as well as in the commntary booth." Good luck my friends. Ill be watching.

Off topic I see Tony Drago defeated John Parrott.
As Parrott always used to say, Drago sees me (Parrott) and its a red rag to a bull.
Unlucky again John.

Dear Mr 2:06 PM, Hi Dave
Thanks mister for the plug, that makes a total of three that now (sometimes) reads my posts; my aim with Dave’s help mister is to reach double figures.

I so wish I new what “Surreal” and mysterious words like “philanthropy” means so that I may completely understand whether I am being ridiculed or performing satisfactory for the Dave Den blog.

Anyway mister thanks again for the Mr hey you mention. A simple wee tip mister if you are player, as secretes are shared in the “Fine Art” method though copyright.

The cue action multiplies in value if you never come out the “Side door”, the “Trap door” and if the cue is still on the nest of your bridge, before you straighten your back and stand up. There is a trick of course mister 2/06 in making this difficult exercise very easy to do. Mr hey you

Hello Dave
How are you! How long do you figure Dave the snooker establishment of Barry and Steve will be given to turn things round? Being popular names could possible give them extra time.

Ronnie’s advice of changing to “Entertaining snooker” has been ignored. Already Barry has adopted the Sir Rodney method of “Promises, Promises”. Nor has the new “Players Union” been mentioned in any commentaries. Maybe Steve and Barry will be given more time to ponder on an escape method

The back bone of snooker is and always will belong to the working man. The game will never die, but the pro game is completely dead except for Us Addicts that find pleasure in seeing the snooker cue being chalked incessantly.

Sadly the game has never been sponsored, but instead “Subsidised” by tobacco money. Sir Rodney survived on a “Business Float” left by Chairman Mr Rex Williams a shrewd and very debonair businessman, Mr hey you
