DOTT GONE

Graeme Dott has withdrawn from the Pukka Pies UK Championship after experiencing dizzy spells during the first session of his match against Mark Williams.

Dott trailed 6-2 after Williams compiled six half century breaks.

He had felt unwell during the afternoon, went back to his hotel for a meal and decided he could not continue.

I hope Dott makes a speedy recovery. All the best Graeme Dott.

Having battled through a broken wrist and depression, you would honestly think that Dott would carry on and play regardless. There are many on the pros out there who would have needed to be carried out before giving up because of dizzy spells of flu symptons. Maybe there is something more serious abound.

Can this tournament really be taken seriously with big pukka pies signs in the background lol? I wonder if the spectators get to sit there with their pies while the action is on haha. Surely they coulda come up with a better sponsor.

The interview with Mark on the world snooker website reads to me like he has doubts as to Dott's supposed illness.

This also detracts a bit from what by all accounts was a great display by Williams. Unfortunately because of this daft four table thing unseen by all but a few people.

Dave, do you know how ticket sales have been going?

Very good apparently

I,ll join the whining in complaining
that Dave has not done a piece about
the match Davis-Hendry.
Surly this is timewarp stuff, albeit
in the first round.
As stated by voting, 88,4 % chosed
that match instead of watching O'Sullivan-Stevens or Higgins-Walden.

Given the few ranking tournaments this season Dott's action don't make much sense. You would have thought he would have battled on! Williams casts doubt on his explanation and I do wonder whether Dott has lost the will to compete at the top level of Snooker!

i know graeme
he is a very quiet and personal person
not all pros talk to all the others backstage, especially before or during matches

that said, its no wonder mark said he didnt know gd was unwell.

i dont think marks comments suggest he thought graeme wasnt unwell. knowing mark, he isnt like that either!

I know Graeme as well and I know for a fact that he thought he was coming down with something the day before he played. He thought he could get away with playing and then recover if he won as he would not have played till Tuesday but the dizziness and headaches when he was down on the shot were too bad for him to continue.

I can't believe people are still bleating about Pukka Pies being the sponsors. As far as the players are concerned, I'm sure they wouldn't care if it was sponsored by Tampax. As long as there is a sponsor, that's all that matters.

Bloody hell that's scraping the barrel Tampax :(
