Without being bias, I'm well chuffed that Mark Selby has been awarded the final invite in to next season's Premier League after a fine 18 months which included a runners up spot at the World Championship and victories at the Wembley Masters and Welsh Open. He is one of the most popular players in the world game today - he always has time to sign to autographs and pose for photographs.
Indeed at the 2007 Welsh Open at the Newport Centre as I requested his autograph in the programme my pen wouldn't work (great timing!) and he disappaered with my programme and signed it and brought it back, no probs which when you consider at the qualifiers for the 1991 Dubai Classic at Trentham Gardens, Stoke-On-Trent as a 12 year old I approached a former world ranking event champion (who I won't name) on the stairs to the Press Room before his game and he wouldn't give me the time of day, let alone an autograph.
As David said I think he will cope with the 25 shot clock, indeed some of the best snooker I have seen him play is when he is a smooth rhythm as when he accounted for John Higgins at the 2006 World Championship and the second session during his defeat of Peter Ebdon at the 2007 World Championship.

I wonder how he will cope with the shot clock!

Funnily enough, I think he'll cope better than some of the quicker players
Selby's great strength is his temperament and, if he has to quicken up, I'm sure he'll just get on with it

I`m really looking forward for the match Ronnie-Mark Selby! When I think about it I have to laugh, sorry...
marco fu would have been a fine choise too!
A question, is there any reason why there isn't a league night in Scotland this year Dave?
Don't know, Matt
It's always been well supported there so maybe they couldn't get a suitable venue on any of the nights in question
