WHITE V DRAGO: LIVE TONIGHT

Tonight Jimmy White and Tony Drago clash cues in a special exhibition in Gloucester to mark the formal opening of the South West Snooker Academy.

This is a first class facility offering practice and coaching with 13 tables and a match arena.

White and Drago are, of course, two of snooker's real entertainers. Tony doesn't seem to have slowed up much over the years and made a successful return to the circuit last season.

Jimmy is ever popular and, as anyone who has been to one of his exhibitions knows, always puts on a good show for his many fans.

The action kicks off around 7pm BST. Details of how to watch will appear on this page at the SWSA website later today.

I wish it all the success in the world and hope the dignitaries enjoy along with the local mayor and his ilk.

Should be good, they're both playing well in practice.

i think the quality of the match is secondary the success of the evening is whats important

well it sounded great and all "puffed up" but in reality I was asked to pay (albeit a nominal 50p) not to witnesss anything live.
To assume snooker coverage of a meaningless exhibition would supercede a full international soccer match is either arrogance or foolishness.
The intentions were possibly good but the final product was very predictably awful and I say this with no satisfaction whatsoever.

What was the score and any good breaks?

The morning after the night before.
The whirlwind versus the tornado, a cracking night of parlour games played to a high level.
Who will win?
SNOOKER IS THE WINNER.

Whats all the fuss about? A meaningless exhibition with two has beens to promote a new club. Who cares.

apparently the wider audience loved it, including the Welsh.

It was a very enjoyable evening for the 300 or so people who came to watch. Jimmy played superbly.

I think the highlight was Dominic Dale's attire, though.

Im sick of this constant promotion of paul mount. Theres pro tournaments on nearly every week and we cant get the scores, but a mickey mouse exhibition is painted as some great event. And I dont see the significance of the welsh lovin it 11.52. Just goes to show when you have a few quid to throw around your business will be well promoted.

I'm beginning to see Andrew Marr's point...

I like a joke myself but this was a pantomime. The feed was "Off air" from 6.50pm until after 9pm when it suddenly came "On Air" for Mark Davies playing somebody with 6 reds. Did anyone else have similar problems? And yes I know it was only 50 pence but it's still money made under false pretences. Won't bother again. Very disappointed Welshman.

the inability of world snooker to do what paul mount has is not his fault is it...

maybe by promoting what paul does might sink in to world snooker eventually.

Marr was wrong about the blogger's, but not off the mark when it came to some of those who comment.

I was one of those who payed 50p to watch the exhibition last night and I was extremely disappointed at missing the first half, but...There's no way on Earth I'm going to criticise SWSC after the fantastic job they've all done. Internet streaming is notorious for the difficulties involved.
On the subject of Andrew Marr, if he told anything like the truth then bloggers wouldn't be needed, the marxist piece of shite!!

paul mount deserves some credit for at least making the effort in streaming events. seems to have made some schoolboy errors in admitting to some of the problems and mistakes they made especially when there are people out there involved with snooker who have experience of doing that kind of thing

" especially when there are people out there involved with snooker who have experience of doing that kind of thing"

I would be interested in who you think those people are?
