HERE'S (GOOD LUCK) TO YOU, MRS ROBINSON

Alex Higgins has recorded an edition of the BBC quiz show The Weakest Link.

I think this may be the only time I've ever felt any sympathy for Anne Robinson.

They should have him playing this World Series event in Ireland. That will get the punters back watching snooker again.

So Alex Higgins will be on the Weakest Link?

What it says on the tin Chris

What I was thinking was that Dave said Alex has recorded an edition of the Weakest Link, I wasn't so sure if he would actually be on it.

Is it a "Washed Up Sportspeople Edition"? If so I wonder who else is on it.

Higgins is a genius at snooker. They don't have players like him any more in the game. Shame really. There's just no characters about.

You mean you thought he had recorded it so he could watch it when he got back in from the pub? lol

Alex is a snooker genius but there are still some more, Ronnie is also a genius and young Luca from Belgium is amazing!

It's a sporting legends edition. Other people I've heard due to be on it include Henry Cooper, Geoff Hurst, but sorry I can't remember the rest of the list.

Knowing Higgins' he'll probably win it.
I'm not sure of transmission date but a good guess would be the Whitsun weekend holiday at end of May

I hope he lasts a few rounds. I can't wait to see who he votes for and his reasons for doing so!

Janie

Henry Cooper might vote him off ...

you have to be brave to do so thats for sure haha

cant see Alex taking it in the spirit of the game more like the spirit of vodka after the game lol

Anonymous said...

i dont think you have to be brave at all

I can tell you wild Frank Bruno wins it.

Come on Jimmy, ref looks a bit tasty

It's true there are no characters in today's game. How many of today's 'stars' would make it on to a British institution like 'The Weakest Link'? The BBC only want well known sporting icons, and Alex Higgins is the most well known snooker player ever.

Anon 11:34pm you are the weakest link goodbye.

i think more people would know steve davis than alex higgins

steve was about only a few years after higgins and is till about and on many tv programs, so i think, sorry know you are wrong, steve is much more well known than alex higgins.

anon @ 11:40pm

That's really clever. What you've done is use the catchphrase from the host of 'The Weakest Link', Anne Robinson, as a retort to the previous comment because, I'm guessing, you don't like it. The humour in this case is that the story is about 'The Weakest Link'!

What you've done is so skilful. I'm surprised no-one has used this before. I suspect now you've opened the stable door so to speak, everyone will now be copying you as we all use Ms. Robinson's catchphrase in everyday use. Thank you so much!

502 at least he or she was funnier than you, even though it wasnt original.

i dont make up jokes and i dont know one single person who goes around making them. id take from that that most jokes posted on here arent original.

pity, as then it would keep you happy

Anon 5:02pm if you read my post it was answering the post made at 11:34pm, who said "The BBC only want well known sporting icons, and Alex Higgins is the most well known snooker player ever" as anon says at 11:24am Steve Davis is more known than Alex Higgins, anyway keep taking you're happy pills and 1 day you might crack a smile.

WJE talking rubbish again.

maybe ALex Higgins is more well known in your living room, but in snooker he is not more well known than steve davis and outwith snooker Davis is much more well known.

Still, WJE is allowed his opinion, even if less than 5% of people think he is even close to correct.
