Shaun Murphy and Stephen Maguire are the first men through to the quarter-finals of the World Series grand finals.
Murphy beat Ryan Day 5-1 while Maguire got past Gary Britton 5-2.
“Normally I’d be away on holiday the day after losing in the World Championship,” Maguire said.
“It feels odd to be playing straight away but the boys have been crying out for more tournaments so you can’t have it both ways.”
The draw for the quarter-finals is:
Graeme Dott v Ken Doherty/Luca Brecel
Mark Selby v Shaun Murphy
John Higgins v Steve Davis/Jimmy White
Stephen Maguire v Ding Junhui

Thanks for keeping us up to date Dave, sterling work as ever! Interesting clash between Ken and Luca in the morning!
thank you, dave:)
Davis v White!
What's Maguire on about? this is a holiday!
I presume Brecel must have beaten Santos in his other match to top the group looking at the next round draw. Strange that no one seems to be carrying this result, even the official website!
Brecel won 4-1
Oh, is that why Stephen doesn't bother to win? Because he's too busy looking forward to his holiday!
I have felt that some players did seem a little casual in the tournament, we would have to wait until the event this weekend and see if they are like that again.
