Following my story yesterday, the WPBSA has decided to let John Higgins compete in any event after his suspension ends on November 1.
This means he could make his comeback at EPTC1 in Hamm, Germany on November 12 and will be eligible to play in the UK Championship and Wembley Masters.

Surprise... There couldn't be any other decision. *sighs* well then, let's move along as if there never was a problem.
Hooray! Can't wait to see him back.
Do you mean EPTC3?
I think 1 and 2 have already been played.
Fantastic news David. When the time comes, it will be great to have John Higgins, in a snooker sense, back where he belongs.
Dave means EPTC5 in Hamm, Germany, starting 11th Nov. Only EPTC1 has been played at the moment. EPTC2 in Bruges starts on 30th Sep. So Higgins will only be able to play in the final 2 EPTC events and will miss a further 3 EPTC events and the final 2 PTC events in the second phase of rankings this season as well as not being able to qualify for PTC Finals next March.
I wonder what Rob Walker will say in his players' entry introduction when it is time for Higgins to enter.
