Jack Lisowski, this season's WPBSA Paul Hunter scholar, has reached the semi-finals of the first Pontin's International Open Series event of the new campaign.
Lisowski defeated John Astley 5-3 this morning and faces German Patrick Einsle later today for a place in the final.
You can read more about Jack here.
The other semi-final is between former world under 21 champion Gary Wilson and Liam Highfield.
What's encouraging is that all four semi-finalists are young. Indeed, today is Lisowski's 18th birthday.
UPDATE: Lisowski has beaten Einsle 5-0 and so is in the final.

Keep it going Jack!
Come on Gary Wilson!
Forza Einsle!
Very well done Patrick.
Nothing better for the game than a german who could get on the main tour.
Do Pontins put the tables outside when the weather is like this?
ROFL at Anon! we wish they would but afraid the seagulls would make a bit of a mess of the cloths!
By the way WSA come in next week to start replacing all the tables (inside that is!!)
Gary Wilson still playing? Very surprising, I think he already pack up the game.

Patrick's already been on Main Tour for one season, but he was younger then and didn't keep his place.
Lasse Munstermann was also on Main Tour, so it's not uncharted territory for the Germany players.
By the way for all "celeb" spotters, Heather Mills spent part of Wednesday and Thursday at the PIOS.
