Mark Selby today defeated Ricky Walden 8-6 to win the Sangsom Six Reds World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.
This is Selby's second title in a matter of weeks having also won the second PTC event in Sheffield.
Momentum is important in any sport and once you get on a roll you want to have as much to play in as possible.
Selby will certainly be busy this season. I've no doubt he'll play in all or certainly most of the PTC and EPTC tournaments, he's back in the Premier League, the new Power Snooker innovation and of course has the main tour events as well.
Not only busy but also potentially very lucrative. The top prize in the six reds event was £40,000.
So with the Wuxi Classic as well that's £51,850 in his back pocket for the season and it's not even August yet.

Well done Mark some decent cash in the bin before the real business begins.
With Higgins sidelined and Ronnie scared of him, maybe this will be the Jester's year.
I hate Mark Selby... I hope, this season it's not Selby's season. He is disgusting!
Calm down Jamie!
disgusting ?
what has he done.
£4O,OOO for a six red event is a phenomenal prize, considering that the winners of some ranking tournaments and premier league get less than that.
Surely the promoters and sponsors of this event could be persuaded to upgrade to 15 red snooker.
A contribution from WS and slight increase from the sponsor could provide a fully fledged ranking event or even an Asian Masters style tournament.
This could be televised in Asia and Eurosport and become a major cog in a global circuit.
6 Red World Championship doesn't lend itself well to 15 Reds because we got that in Sheffield each April .
it's great when some players instead of constant moaning that the wc and snooker itself is a bore enjoy more snooker in summer and take the most of it
well done Mark
Ronnie scared of Selby? Are you joking?
12.42 obviously having a go at humour, as any person who finds Selby disgusting must surely find Ronald to be the most vile person ever to be interview in the far east....
Ronnie doesn't fancy it against the Jester unless it's in a "gimmick match". Over the championship distances he has an inferiority complex.
