THE NEW LOOK CRUCIBLE

Today is a special open day for the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, which is re-opening after the first phase of its redevelopment.

The public can turn up and have a nose around to see the new front of house area, sit in the new arena seats and inspect the new carpet, which appears to be just as gaudy as the last one.

You can read more and watch videos of the inside of the Crucible here and here.

The World Championship starts four weeks today.

Is the players lounge any bigger?
Previously it was too small to swing a medium sized mouse.

Expected the interior to look more...changed than that. Good to see that they have kept the seats in the arena similar.

i was told that the players lounge (the small one) was planned to be moved or removed, but that was in the early days.

it was far too small, but its a good place for catching up with the players....

The Crucible is unique

It is home to the only world championship played in a dolls house ...

Its an amphitheatre of dreams played out in a claustrophobic nightmare of astrononomic proportions.
A cocophany of sounds inside a small frying pan of an arena.
Good and bad copled together.

its a place that is right for all the wrong reasons and make it what it is....

having been to many events over the years and been in most access areas at them it is plain the see that the crucible wouldnt be picked these days if it wasnt for history, but all the things there make it so exciting, yet its hard to say just why, as most journalists have tried and failed to put it in words themselves and they get paid to do that.

hopefully it wont have changed too much. hope the balconies are still there too. thats where the banter flies.........

Snooker © The Fine Art Method
www.snooker-fineart.com
A secret is wasted if not shared

It is apparently clear that others are AFRAID of The Fine Art method. Clive and Terry begged for the Fine Art copyright; and when refused adopted the deceased Joe Davis method instead.

If the Joe Davis copyright is now void? All players should be allowed to sell coaching diplomas! Not only the Griffiths family business in Wales and the Snooker Academy in Sheffield.

Any player that can attract a student for coaching is entitled to give a certificate of competance or award a diploma. There is no barometer to snooker coaching.
Nearly all advance player do a bit of coaching, but keep it "in house" as a perk.
A new copyright coaching method has to be rejected as it may not mysteriously be declared void and free from copyright laws. Mr.hey you

what is this to do with The Crucible.
Are you a mad fool?

This spamming clown is funny, with his conspiracy theories. He makes snooker coaching sound like the Kennedy assassination.
